Nokia's Mobile Radar Concept
The Nokia Research Center has recently introduced “mobile radar” in concept form at a demo in Finland. The technology is similar to other forms of radar, but has been applied to a cell phone, allowing users to measure speed, distance, and direction. One interesting use for this technology is demonstrated in the video above. Specifically, users are able to control the volume of their phone based on the proximity of their hand to the headset. This is yet another example of device manufacturers re-envisioning how people interact with their mobile devices.
