Remote Control: Xachi Pet Made Smarter With Interactive iPhone App

iphone-xachi-blue

Xachi Pet is an interactive toy produced by Taptic Toys. Through the use of an iPhone app, this otherwise "dumb object" will be brought to life with new functions.

It’s got an 8-bit speaker, an accelerometer, robotic legs that can dance, and a LED screen for animation. Similar to a Tomagachi, you track and maintain its hunger, thirst, health, and happiness from your iPod/iPhone – you can feed it, give it water and play with it to keep it happy.

As personal app devices become increasingly popular and somewhat standardized, more opportunities like this will begin to rise. Our mobile phone will gradually become the portal for individual interaction with the world around us.
